The Career Fair is just one way that GE Capital has taken their community involvement above and beyond to make a real and lasting impact on kids. In addition to making generous monetary donations, GE Capital employees have volunteered over 1,000 total hours in the past three years. One group is currently teaching weekly Life Skills classes to about 35 children at the Smith Center campus. And during GE’s Global Community Days, they provided volunteers and paid for the materials needed to complete the dugouts and bleachers at the Four Oaks ball diamond.
To recognize all that GE Capital has done for Four Oaks, we nominated them for the Governor’s Volunteer Award, which they accepted from Governor Branstad in front of a large audience at the June 29th ceremony at Prairie High School. To all the wonderful employees at GE Capital, thank you for your dedication to our kids!
