Partnership for SUCCESS: Margaret's story How do you determine which charities will benefit from your business’s philanthropy? With so many well-run organizations in Iowa representing important causes, the decision can be overwhelming.  At Four Oaks, we recognize the care you put into giving back to the community, so we place great importance on being good stewards of your donations of time, talent and dollars. As a result, we observe time and again as a small bit of involvement blossoms into a wonderful reciprocal relationship between Four Oaks, a business, and its employees. This is what is currently happening with CenturyLink.

As a company, CenturyLink places great importance on giving back to the communities it serves. In Cedar Rapids, all it took was one employee named Margaret to speak to her supervisor last summer about our school supply drive, in which she had previously participated. The company observed the wonderful response from employees, and after learning more about Four Oaks through tours, they decided to make a $2,000.00 unrestricted donation to benefit our programs (see photo). Currently, they have “adopted” eight children in residential treatment at Four Oaks and will purchase gifts for them through the annual Holiday Project. In just half a year, CenturyLink’s impact on Four Oaks has been immense, and we are confident that they will continue to support our mission.

We hope you will consider the impact your gifts have at Four Oaks, and we challenge you to share your ideas, and let us know how we can help you achieve your philanthropic goals.  There are thousands of children and families in our care, waiting for one seed of hope that will help them rise above a tough situation and give them a chance to be successful. We thank CenturyLink and all the businesses that help us achieve this mission every day.
