Over 16,000 Ducks Sold for the Daybreak Duck Races Despite the rain, fun was had by 400 onlookers at the Daybreak Rotary Duck Races held at Ellis Boat Harbor on June 25th. All eyes were on the 17,000 ducks that were dumped into the water, hoping their "lucky duck" would be the $10,000 winner. The winning duck belonged to Michele Thornton while other winners receieved such prizes as a 42" TV and an iPad.

Four Oaks is one of four beneficiaries of the event; Polk Elementary, the Boys & Girls Club, and the Daybreak Rotary Sunshine Fund also receieve proceeeds. The event would not be possible without the Daybreak Rotarians and the 45 Four Oaks staff volunteers who helped to sell ducks and bravely donned the duck suit. The official check presentation will be held on July 12th.

This is the third year of Four Oaks' involvement with the Daybreak Rotary Duck Races with the first two years bringing $30,000 to the agency. Stay tuned for details about the 2012 Duck Race!
