While volunteers are a cornerstone of the entire Four Oaks enterprise and every contribution made to our success is appreciated, our friends at GE Capital in Cedar Rapids recently received recognition for the multiple ways in which they have helped. We are pleased to congratulate GE Capital for receiving the Governor’s Volunteer Service Award based on a nomination that Four Oaks submitted.
From the manpower and funds to create baseball dugouts, community gardens, and disc golf, GE Capital serves as an example of a true corporate citizen. Last year, Four Oaks was just one of a handful of organizations that received a national grant from GE Capital, In the Community, For the Community, which resulted in several corporate executives from Dallas and local employees painting side-by-side at the Jane Boyd Community House. A project conceptualized and implemented by GE Capital this year was a mentoring program to prepare our kids for career options.
