Bored no more! As any parent knows, summer often elicits a dreaded two-word complaint from kids aged toddler to teen: “I’m bored!”

Thanks to innovative programming by the Four Oaks Achievement Academy, children and youth in this all-day program for at-risk kids will be anything but bored. Located at four different locations in the Cedar Rapids area (The Bridge, Jane Boyd Community House, Cedar Valley Resource Center, and Hawthorne Hills) the list of summer activities reads like a dream vacation:  sports clubs, reading programs, photography club, theatre camp at Theatre Cedar Rapids, ceramics, science experiments, music lessons, foreign language instruction, and swimming – and this is just a partial list!

There are 220 kids enrolled this year and Kylie likely speaks for all of them when she shouts, “This is great!” Your financial support helps run the Achievement Academy, which during the school year involves an after-school program at the same locations.
