The Post-Adoption Support Specialist (PAS Specialist) is responsible for providing support to

post-adoption families receiving Iowa subsidy in an effort to maintain permanency and prevent disruption. This entails providing crisis response, behavioral interventions, information dissemination, referral for treatment services, arranging for recreation and respite, and other supportive activities. The PAS Specialist is expected to build professional working relationships with contract and community partners. The PAS Specialist is also responsible for recruiting new families eligible for PAS services, conducting outreach and activities designed to enhance and expand local PAS services, and ensuring proper documentation of PAS services according to federal and state guidelines.

  

Bachelor Degree, or higher, in social work or a related field plus a minimum of two years

experience within the child welfare field. Experience in the area of adoption and/or foster care and special needs adoption and dynamics is preferred.
